RECRUITMENT

Phi Alpha Delta is a local fraternity. No national organization presides over the fraternity. The active brothers of Phi Alpha Delta serve as the governing body of the whole organization. We must recruit members who are dedicated to making this fraternity run and be the best that it can be. We take our organizational goals and values very seriously when recruiting new members. Phi Alpha Delta looks to maintain its 88-year old tradition as the third oldest student-run organization on campus with promising future brothers. Listed below are five values we take into consideration during recruitment.

Leadership: As mentioned earlier, if the fraternity fails to recruit leaders, the fraternity will be no more. We do not have a national headquarters to help lead and guide us through the semester. Leadership qualities are necessary if a potential new member would like to become a brother of Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity.

Academics/Athletics: If a potential new member excels in academics and athletics it shows that they are motivated individuals. To be elite in either of these categories takes hard work and dedication, traits every brother of Phi Alpha Delta has. The brothers of Phi Alpha Delta respect their bodies and exercise regularly; we take being in shape very serious, for it shows we are well rounded, driven people.

On the other hand, we also take academia very seriously. Our brothers hold a collective grade point average that is consistently higher than both the All Greek and All-Men's averages. We are at college to learn and make it clear that that is a priority.

Technical Awareness: Phi Alpha Delta expects potential new members to display that they are technically aware, meaning that they can figure out solutions to issues with the resources given to them. Phi Alpha Delta was originally an engineering fraternity, so we value technical awareness with both physical and mental tools.

Social Competence: As a social fraternity on this campus, we also value social competence. New members must have situational intelligence and know how to conduct themselves in many different social settings. Whether a brother is in the classroom, the student center, or at an off campus house, he must know the proper way to act socially. Other members of the community know Phi Alpha Delta as being social and friendly. This is a value that we take very seriously when recruiting.

Professional Mindedness: The brothers of Phi Alpha Delta will all one day be professionals. The brothers of Phi Alpha Delta always act as professionals on this campus and take a professional mindset to their everyday tasks. Ambition is a quality which Phi Alpha Delta treasures in its new members.
